SEWER CONNECTIONS & REPAIRS IN Manchester, CT

Sometimes old sewer lines can become overrun with plant roots, or they can break and collapse, causing the liquids inside to leak out into your home or lawn. The damage can become so extensive that they can't be repaired through less invasive methods such as drain cleaning, electrical snaking and jetting.

On the other hand, you may be constructing your dream home and need new sewer connections installed.

ADB Construction & Septic Corp. specializes in sewer excavation, installation, repair and connection.

With ADB Construction & Septic Corp., you can rest assured that your septic system is in good hands.

Call (860) 432-5996 or schedule an appointment online today to schedule your septic pumping service.

HOW IT WORKS

The flexible liner and liquid epoxy we use cures in place inside the old pipe, creating a rigid pipe within a pipe.

  • Unless there are obvious signs of pipe failure, such as sewage spilling into your home or lawn, we would first complete a sewer line inspection to determine if the issue is in fact pipe failure or if it is a blockage. We always recommend the most appropriate, least expensive, and safest option.
  • If we determine that the issue is pipe failure, we would dig an open trench over the existing pipe (or where a new pipe would go) in order to expose it for inspection, repairs or replacement.
  • Once our work is complete, the trench is backfilled and we put down new grass seed or sod to repair the damage to your lawn.

REASONS FOR DIGGING UP A NEW/EXISTING SEWER LINE

NEW CONSTRUCTION

Sewer lines are often installed at the same time as water and natural gas lines for new homes. You may also update your existing system, such as installing a new clean out for easy access in the future.

REPAIR & REPLACE

Most commonly, sewer lines are dug up to repair or replace damaged pipe. The entire pipe may be overrun with roots, collapsing due to age, or it may be cost effective to replace the whole pipe to prevent future issues.

SEPTIC SYSTEM TRANSITION

Your municipality may require you to transition from a septic system to the city sewer system, especially if your existing septic system is due for replacement.

WHAT CAUSES SEWER LINE DAMAGE?

Sewer lines often break down due to age and corrosion. Corroded pipes are more likely to experience damage from tree roots, and older lines typically start leaking due to worn-out joints. New sewer systems can also get damaged by clogged pipes.

SIGNS OF DAMAGE TO LOOK OUT FOR

Minor sewer line damage can quickly lead to major breakdowns. Property owners can avoid costly sewer line repairs by watching out for these common warnings signs:

Bad Smells

Odors are a sign of leaking sewer lines. You may notice foul-smelling mud, smelly drains, or rotten-smelling pools of water in your lawn. Sewer line leaks can expose you to hazardous wastewater and cause water damage to structures. Schedule an inspection right away to avoid health risks and property damage.

Debris in Drains

Tree roots can break into sewer lines, pushing twigs, rocks, and other debris into your drains. This can lead to clogged pipes and excessive water pressure, causing cracks or bursts. Debris can also result in clogged pipes that drain slowly. At ADB Construction & Septic Corp., we offer sewer repair services to fix blockages and remove debris.

Soggy Grass

If your sewer line is damaged, you might have a flooded yard filled with wastewater. Property owners can avoid major water damage by keeping an eye out for soggy grass. Sewer lines usually leak slowly before completely breaking. This leads to wet patches, muddy lawns, and shallow pools of water. You may also notice areas of bright green, lush grass caused by excess water in the soil.

HOW TO PROTECT SEWER LINES FROM DAMAGE

Property owners can protect their sewer lines in a few simple steps:

Properly Dispose of Waste

Grease, paper products, and other waste can clog sewer lines. Avoid dumping grease or oil down the sink, and only flush sewer-safe paper products.

Remove Damaging Trees

Large trees often break through sewer pipes. Removing them can stop damage caused by tree roots.

Schedule Regular Inspections

You can avoid major sewer line repairs by planning regular inspections. At ADB Construction & Septic Corp., we offer professional sewer scopes to catch problems early.

Had ADB come and pump my septic tank. Matt arrived and was professional and knowledgeable. Even took video and noticed my system had a filter which also needed cleaning, turns out it probably hadn't been cleaned previously and was clogged. By doing that Matt probably saved me some money and a terrible sewage back up in the future. Great service good price will definitely use ADB for all my septic needs.

Matt just came out to clean and drain our septic. He was very polite, and professional. He suggested a few things to extend the life of our system. He basically put our minds at ease. Great company, we will always call ADB

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The septic system alarm going off is an indicator of an issue within the system that requires immediate attention. Possible reasons for the alarm include: high water level in the tank, pump failure, blockage in the system, electrical issues, and component malfunction within the alarm system itself.

Typically, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 years. However, the frequency can vary based on household size, water usage, and tank size.

Warning signs include foul odors, slow draining sinks/toilets, pooling water in the yard, or gurgling noises from drains. These may indicate a potential issue with the system.

It's advisable to avoid unnecessary additives as they might disrupt the natural bacterial balance in the tank. Regular pumping and proper maintenance are typically sufficient.

Avoid flushing non-biodegradable items (e.g., wipes, feminine hygiene products) and pouring grease, oil, chemicals, or medications down drains, as they can harm the system and the environment.

Regular maintenance, conserving water, avoiding excess use of garbage disposals, and being mindful of what goes into drains can help prevent problems.

Certain trees and shrubs with shallow root systems may damage the septic system. It's best to consult with professionals before planting near the tank or drain field.

Building structures or paving over the system can hinder access for maintenance and repairs. It's crucial to adhere to local regulations and consult professionals before making changes.

Properly maintained septic systems can last for several decades. However, regular inspections and maintenance are essential for longevity.

If you experience a backup, minimize water usage immediately and contact a septic professional for assistance. Avoid using sinks, toilets, or other water fixtures until the issue is resolved.
