GREASE TRAPS & A.G.R.U.

We'd hate to see your business shut down due to a grease overflow, drain issue, or non-compliant grease tank. Even worse than the costs of shutting down operations, emergency service, and potential fines...your customers will find it just plain gross.

Fats, oils, grease and solids can build up in your pipes and cause problems. Regular grease trap pumping and maintenance prevents costly backups and increases kitchen efficiency, while protecting you from loss of business or damage to your property.

OUTDOOR GREASE SERVICES

It's important to have your outdoor grease tank serviced regularly to prevent hardened grease buildup, which can cause backups, overflows outside or draining issues inside. When we service your grease tank we'll fully pump down your grease traps well as inspect your inlet and outlet pipes, flow and grease thickness.

We adhere to Connecticut's Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) Model Program.

HOW DOES A GREASE TRAP WORK

Even when you work to prevent grease from going down your kitchen drain, fats and oils can still make their way into sewer pipes. A grease trap prevents fat and grease from getting into your sewer line. It lets water flow through the sewer line while trapping fat in a removable container.

WARNING SIGNS OF A GREASE TRAP CLOG

If a kitchen retains a foul odor after cleaning, you may have a grease trap issue. Another sign of a clogged grease trap is a slow or clogged drain. Pipes overwhelmed with grease clogs can burst, cause raw sewage to leak, and make its way into clean water sources, especially when it mixes with stormwater.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD GREASE TRAPS BE MAINTAINED

It's best to clean a traditional grease trap every one to three months. In some commercial kitchens, it may be necessary to clean a grease trap more frequently. Generally, when grease reaches one-fourth of the trap's capacity, that is a good time to clean it.

BUSINESSES THAT MAY NEED INDOOR AND OUTDOOR GREASE SERVICES

Grease traps that fail can threaten water quality and lead to costly repairs and fines. Your business can benefit from indoor and outdoor professional grease trap cleaning services if it has a commercial kitchen. Commercial grease trap services offer restaurant grease trap cleaning to clear out a grease trap clogged with fat and oil.

AUTOMATIC GREASE REMOVAL UNITS (A.G.R.U.s)

We also service automatic grease removal units (A.G.R.U.s). Traditional grease traps need to be regularly pumped out when they are 25% full of grease. A.G.R.U.s remove the grease automatically, so they don't need to be pumped out as frequently, but they do still need regular service.

BENEFITS OF AN AUTOMATIC GREASE REMOVAL UNIT

Automatic grease removal unit (AGRU) benefits include a clean grease trap with better wastewater flow. Installing an AGRU near a dishwasher or sink also allows you to empty grease daily.

We offer commercial grease trap services, including AGRU installation and maintenance. Call (860) 432-5996 to learn more or schedule a service call.
